The process in this trainer consists of temperature control of a moving stream of air. A blower blows air into an insulated pipe. Heater is provided to raise the temperature. Temperature sensors are provided along the length of the tube. The heater can be controlled by a built-in amplifier. A PID Controller is built into the equipment. The blower speed can also be adjusted. Using these, a closed loop temperature system is established and various types of controls such as anticipatory, 0 error, On - Off type, etc. can be established. The open and closed loop transfer functions and response of the process to different variable can therefore, be studied.
